The Neurotherapy Center Hilversum is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to bring Neurotherapy to a broader audience, not only by treating clients, but also by offering educational workshops for therapists, scientific research and developing new neurofeedback technologies.

History

The Neurotherapy Center Hilversum can be considered a pioneer in the field of neurofeedback in the Netherlands. The organization was started in 2002 as part of the Imaging Center of the Fred Foundation. Its members were educated by Marty Wuttke from the Wuttke Institute in the U.S.A.

The neurofeedback activities became independent from the Fred Foundation in late 2003, when the NCH was officially founded. As the NCH is a non-profit organization, it seeks to provide affordable biofeedback training to support people in improving their own mental and physical health. Over the years the co-operation with the Wuttke Institute has intensified, Marty and Susan Wuttke regularly visit our center in Hilversum to give advanced workshops and to assist in developing state of the art neurofeedback technology. As of 2009 all activities concerning research are coordinated by the Stichting Science Center Neurotherapie, a new department which resides under the NCH.

The NCH team consists of experienced and certified neurotherapists who - besides neurofeedback - understand other biofeedback modalities and supporting therapies.

Our Research & Development team led by Jan Souren, PhD, developed software for advanced QEEG analysis and biofeedback training. Together with hardware developer Pole2Pole we designed the Mindtuner, a device which is capable of amplifying bioelectric signals from the heart and brain for biofeedback training, see www.mindtuner.net.
