Meditation & Personal Growth
The last few years a great deal of attention is directed towards neurotherapy as a method to accomplish personal growth and as a means to enhance the effectiveness of meditation. Often meditators go through a period of little progress: it appears harder to meditate, one does not seem to be able to reach the usual depth or one feels stuck. Neurotherapy is for both beginners and advanced meditators a way of getting more depth in meditation and progressing faster in their personal growth process. The protocols used are:
- Alfa- or alfa-theta training
- Gamma training
These neurotherapy sessions are carried out with closed eyes in a quiet environment. Feedback is provided via soft tones which vary in pitch and intensity. For starting meditators it is important to first go through a neurofeedback training to help stabilize the brain and deal with old dysfunctional patterns. It is not until then that one can succesfully start the alpha (-theta) training. Gamma training is more appropriate for experienced meditators.
